Here is the long awaited local website … The Village Journal!

The aim is to provide local information, news & articles of interest to those who live both locally & those who have moved away.

After the success of Bourne End & Wooburn Green- Past & Present, I am now hoping to provide something slightly different that will compliment the Facebook community. There are many areas that don’t fit neatly into scrolling up & down the pages of FB such as looking for a local builder, restaurant or car mechanic in a hurry…. so this should be a little easier to use.

Going back to Facebook, I was more surprised than anyone to watch our Facebook group grow so rapidly into a huge success & I am eager to see this website develop in the same way. For those of you who are on Facebook, you’ll know that a few months ago I handed the group over to  Michael “Waikiki” Kelly  (who had been a wonderful help from quite early on) & continues to work tirelessly to keep the group going.

For those of you who are not a member of the Bourne End & Wooburn Green Past & Present group, there is another option.  A closed group has been set up by Julie Keeble for anyone in the area who would like to speak more freely on life in Bourne End or Wooburn – “Bourne End Forum”. Julie has 2 admins to help her & they seem to be attracting many new members each week.

As I am working alone for now, I plan to gradually introduce more sections such as competitions,  Gig Guide & add to the Village Shop …..ideas are constantly flowing!  I would also be delighted if anyone would like to contribute to the content of the site with photos, memories & stories.

Now, the boring bit…. unfortunately there is a monthly cost involved in providing this so I have had to introduce a small fee for advertising space ( but still cheaper than other sites & magazines!). The ads would be boxed & placed in the business directory under the relevant heading. Look out for regular special advertising offers. If you would like to see your business ad shared with thousands of people please contact me for more details.

Lastly, thank you all for your support, take a look around & please enjoy! ….Kaye.

Please take a look around & feel free to contact me if you have anything you would like published such as a birth or wedding announcement, would like information on advertising prices, to submit articles of interest or to provide details of an event in the area.
