Could you keep the Bucks Village Journal going?

I am once again on the hunt for someone who would love to take over the Bucks Village Journal…could that be you?

I love the website & the content it holds but I just don’t have the time to keep it going & due to health, I can’t do the networking needed or attend the events that would help to keep some interesting posts about what is going on in our beautiful area.

There is so much that could be reported on locally, so much more history to share & so many events that could be covered.

If this idea would interest you, please email me at kaye.townsend@btinternet.com

I look forward to hearing from you, Kaye.

Get Down To Bunnings at the Weekend

So, I think most of us have realised Bunnings has now opened in Loudwater. The lack of warning of an opening date was due the shop opening a week earlier than expected. Now…you don’t hear that very often!

If like me, you have found it a breath of fresh air where DIY shops are concerned you will have noticed the variety of new products to look at, especially in the “outside living” departments. Bunnings have a long history as a leading retailer in Australia & New Zealand, over 25 years. The prices are good too. Bunnings say if you find an item cheaper elsewhere, they will not only match it, they will give you 10% off too. Can’t say fairer than that.

For parents, it’s a great idea having kids activities instore. This weekend there is face painting between 11 & 1pm, kids DIY workshop between 2 & 3pm & for the adults, each weekend has a DIY workshop, this weekend being “How to mount shelves on any wall”. This is on at 10.30am, 1pm & 3.30pm. It’s also worth noting that there is a kids play area, coffee machine & tables & chairs to rest, wait or just drink coffee.

Bunnings also offer fundraising opportunities for non-profit groups in the form of a “Sausage Sizzle”. They also hold Community DIY workshops… workshops for local community groups such as schools, nursing homes & non-profit groups. They will come to you or you can go to the store. Leaflets & information on these workshops are instore. I noticed a key cutting machine just inside the doors…always handy to know.

So far, I have found the staff to be very friendly & helpful. Apparently the staff count has gone from approx. 40 to 70 making life much easier for you when you need advice or help.

So…. If you haven’t taken a look at the store yet, get down there this weekend. Leave the kids doing a workshop while you take a browse around & get a sausage sizzle as you leave, but don’t forget to collect the kids on the way out!

Hugely successful series of stories!

Thank you!

Mystery Month on The Village Journal – A hugely popular series !

I would just like to say a big “thank you” to all the contributors of the wonderful ghost stories. The were greatly received by so many people, resulting in a huge increase in visitors to the website. I think each story had a bigger impact, knowing these events happened in a house or road near by. So, thanks to all who sent them in & all who took the time to read them…  🙂  Kaye.
